WITH WIND AND WATER IN GDYNIA
Between 31 July and 3 August, Gdynia will be hosting the 9th Water Sports Fair WIND and WATER – on Water. This time, the most beautiful yachts, luxurious motorboats, the fastest jet skis, modern yachting and motorboat equipment will be exhibited for four days in Marina Gdynia.
The honorary patrons of the Fair are: the President of Gdynia Mr Wojciech Szczurek, the Polish Yachting Association, the Polish Motorboat and Water Ski Association, the Polish Chamber of Marine Industry and Water Sports, as well as the Volunteer Water Rescue Service. The event is organised by Yacht EXPO, Murator EXPO, the City of Gdynia and GOSiR. The partner of the Fair is the magazine “Żagle”.
This year’s Fair promises to be very interesting, mainly thanks to numerous new boats and yachts which have never before been shown in Gdynia, but also to some premiere constructions. In the tent halls positioned on the waterside the visitors will find products of companies offering sailing and motorboat accessories, navigation, safety and rescue equipment, as well as tourist and sports clothing. There will also be organisers of charters and regattas as well as professional media.
During this year’s WIND and WATER Fair – on Water, for the fifth time already, the ceremony of the Award of the President of the City of Gdynia will be held. The ceremony closes the GDYNIA YACHT DESIGN competition, established specially for the Fair. The aim of the competition is to establish and honour the most beautiful sailing yacht and motor yacht presented at the Fair. An independent jury will choose the winners from among the vessels entered in the competition. Furthermore, the Fair in Gdynia will be the place of announcement of the nominations in the competition “Jacht Roku w Polsce – Polish Yacht of the Year 2015”, organised by the water sports magazine “Żagle”.
The WIND and WATER Fair on Water is not only about the exhibitor’s presentations, but also many other attractions and events related to water sports. For the entire duration of the Fair, rescue shows will be performed at the marina by WOPR Gdynia volunteers and the WOPR intervention group with dogs. As part of the public campaign Safe Water, on Saturday the visitors to the Fair will learn how to look after safety on water and how to behave in an emergency. Furthermore, they will also have the opportunity to learn how to provide first aid and what emergency equipment should be taken onboard a yacht. Additionally, at the Fair there will also be spectacular shows of canoeing freestyle and regatta of radio-controlled yachts.
9th Water Sports Fair and Sailing Festival WIND and WATER on water will last from Thursday to Sunday (31 July – 3 August 2014).

Entry ticket prices: discount 5 PLN, normal 10 PLN, children up to 12 – free entry.
The opening ceremony of the Fair will take place on Thursday at 13.00 at the Fair’s stage.
